Valentina Kozlova Dance Conservatory of New York was founded in 2003 by Valentina Kozlova, a former Principal Dancer with both Bolshoi Ballet and New York City Ballet. Ms. Kozlova and her faculty, train aspiring dancers in the Vaganova Method. The school’s stylistic philosophy is based on traditional Russian technique, flavored with American idiom. Classes are demanding while maintaining a friendly and intimate atmosphere. In addition to teaching a solid classical technique, VKDCNY strives to develop accomplished, artistic dancers who are encouraged to perform.
Valentina Kozlova Dance Conservatory of New York (VKDCNY) offers prestigious training in classical ballet technique of the Russian Vaganova method. All of the school’s teachers and coaches are highly experienced and trained in this technique and more. The student training begins at age nine and up with four levels of class placement. Along with the year-round class commitment, the students participate in performances and competitions nationally and internationally. The results of these performances and competitions continue to give the students of VKDCNY high recognition. The school is designed to offer the highest level of dance instruction in the Vaganova method to prepare the students for a professional career in dance.
