**VKDCNY is excited to announce the addition of Pas de Deux class for advanced students taught by former NY City Ballet principal dancer Charles Askegard.  For more information about this class and registering, please contact the school.**

Valentina Kozlova's Dance Conservatory of New York is dedicated to providing the highest level of dance instruction to primary through pre-professional students, preparing them for a professional career in dance.

Ms. Kozlova was born in Moscow, where she studied at the Bolshoi school and later became Principal dancer with Bolshoi Ballet. In the early 1980s she joined New York City Ballet as Principal dancer, and in 2003, she founded her own school, Valentina Kozlova's Dance Conservatory of New York.

Dance Magazine's August 2010 issue featured an interview with Ms. Kozlova about dancing, teaching and running her school. Former student Whitney Jensen, now soloist with Boston Ballet, also appears in the same issue in a full page photograph. The magazine Pointe published photos of three VKDCNY students, Veronika Verterich, Sarah Steele and Brecke Swan, that same month.

Dance Teacher Magazine's January 2011 issue featured Ms. Kozlova on the cover, and a spotlight article entitled "The New Détente".  Describing Ms. Kozlova and her ability to carry on a legacy, Rachel Straus of Dance Teacher writes, "Known as a performer of golden luminosity, Kozlova's vitality now streams through her bevy of young dancers, some of whom are winning medals.  Now she is passing on her experience to her protégées."
