Valentina Kozlova Dance Conservatory of New York (VKDCNY) offers prestigious training in classical ballet technique of the Russian Vaganova method. All of the school’s teachers and coaches are highly experienced and trained in this technique and more. The student training begins at age nine and up with four levels of class placement. Along with the year-round class commitment, the students participate in performances and competitions nationally and internationally. The results of these performances and competitions continue to give the students of VKDCNY high recognition. The school is designed to offer the highest level of dance instruction in the Vaganova method to prepare the students for a professional career in dance.
Held at Sotogrande International School (SIS), the VKDCNY Spain Summer Intensive will offer two weeks of instruction in classical ballet of the Vaganova method, pointe work, variations, personal coaching, European contemporary dance, and character dance. Under the artistic direction of Valentina Kozlova (former Principal Dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet and New York City Ballet), educators will include Svetlana Ivanova (former Soloist of the Bolshoi Ballet Company), Sergei Soloviev (former Principal Dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet and current Master Teacher at Paris Conservatory of Dance), Vycheslav Kalinin (former graduate of the Bolshoi Academy and former principal dancer for Moiseev Company) and Rita Quaglia (Master Teacher at the Paris Conservatory and International Guest Teacher and Choreographer in Contemporary).The intensive will include an excursion to Gibraltar on the day off and end with a participant workshop and performance.
